HITS National Instrumental Conference 2008 evaluation report PDF Print E-mail

The evaluation report of the Heads of Instrumental Teaching Scotland (HITS) National Instrumental Conference which took place in Glasgow on 30 September 2008 is now available to read in full.

The conference programme featured keynote speeches, inspiring performances, a panel debate, trade stands and a choice of two workshops from a wide variety instrumental, genre and specialist group master classes. Please see appendix one for the conference schedule.

The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD), the Scottish Arts Council (SAC) and Sibelius provided financial and in-kind support for the event.

 The evaluation was commissioned by the HITS conference organisation team and undertaken by Rachel Gardiner; an independent evaluator.

Following the introduction the report is in five parts as follows:

  • Section two details the evaluation methods used.
  • Section three provides an overview of the marketing, publicity and pre-conference information.
  • Section four gives details on what happened at the conference alongside delegate feedback on the content and structure of the event.
  • Section five investigates the impact of the event.
  • Section six looks forward to future events and includes recommendations.
